JUST A THOT . . . Last week I made
reference to a Great Commission Resurgence. Dr. Lance, our State
Executive Director wrote on the same topic in his recent blog.
While he agrees with the spirit of the Resurgence Document and its
emphasis on the Great Commission he takes issue with a statement
which refers to state conventions as “blotted bureaucracies”. Since
his tenure began 10 1/2 years ago he has placed The Great Commission
as the centerpiece for all we do as Alabama Baptists. For a full

firmly believe we need to revisit what we say we stand for . . .
people of the Book, but how many times outside of church has yours
been used this week? People of prayer . . . again, how many times,
not counting a meal blessing, have you connected with Him. Or dare
I say, people of the Gospel . . . yet missed opportunities to
share? Now, don’t get me wrong, I struggle in each of these but
that does not mean I abandon the ship! God has it all in place and
all He asked for is obedience. Be blessed and be one, as well.
