Update On
Etowah Free Clinic
The clinic opened its doors on January 17, 2005. Dr. Linda Jones, a member of
Twelfth Street, was the first volunteer physician. She continues to serve at the
clinic every Monday morning, and she blesses every patient with a prayer. Many
are pleasantly surprised by her godly caring spirit.
Here are some of the statistics from the first six months of operation:
-
220 Patients Seen
(many for multiple appointments)
-
323 Laboratory Tests administered
-
430 Long-term Prescription Medications provided
to 93 patients (value $202,000)
-
5 On-Site Physicians
(Others took referrals in their offices)
Since June, at least three additional physicians have agreed to volunteer.
Others have donated medicines and equipment.
